Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, under constant attack by those it borders – land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. It is an intense study of a violent world far from media scrutiny – where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations. Yellowstone is Dallas for the 21st Century. Instead of South Fork there is Yellow Stone. Instead of JR Ewing there is John Dutton. Like JR, Dutton is willing to do anything to preserve his holdings. The plot line in Yellowstone can be hard to follow because the characters are many. However, the episodes are time-tested melodrama with plenty of bloodshed, twisted romance, revenge, greed all set in the wide open Westrrn United States. In order to accept all this the viewer must suspend certain beliefs in favor of fictional conceits such as Montana of 2020 is essentially very similar to Dodge City in 1870.::davidoconnor-44380
